Scheduling an evening session in the middle of the Florida summer is often a bit of a gamble. 89% of the time, it will have rained that afternoon. It can be a tough call, deciding on whether to go through with the session or to reschedule. This session was the result of a reschedule due to weather already (maybe even twice if memory serves me correctly!) but this time, we were determined to make it happen! We headed out to Lake Tohopekaliga (Lake Toho for short) and braved the incoming weather. The wind picked up and the skies got darker and darker…Lallie and her parents and sisters stuck around and we were able to get some pretty amazing (and unique) shots!
After family and pup headed to safety, I hung out for just a bit longer. Being a Florida native, I absolutely LOVE watching the storms roll in. (So much so that I changed my major to meteorology in college!) I am so glad I stuck around for this storm. This photo was taken about 4 minutes before the skies just opened up and the downpour started.
Are you a weather buff too? I love the idea of incorporating some weather into our shoot! (Safely of course!) Share your ideas with me, I’d love to hear them!
